While one might think that a Project Management Plan is simply a document that lays out a foundation of the Project there more to it. Its actually quite an important document. The definition of a project management plan is a document used to integrate and coordinate all project planning documents and to help guide a project’s execution, monitoring and control, and closure.

This is very essential for a project manager and stakeholders to guide the project. Also, Project management plans facilitate communication among stakeholders and provide a baseline for progress measurement and project control. It is a very specific and measurable plan. 

Therefore, as a project manager and stakeholder of a project the project management plan should guide the overall project and it should be taken very serious. This is were one has a chance to measure progress and having the ability to control the project.
